The day after a potluck...

Sunday, May 26, 2013

Well, there was lots of food at the party, but nothing I really wanted, so I hardly ate anything. The food choice were not to my liking, but there were sooo many desserts. I ate a green salad, fruit and a few cookies. Not the greatest choices but... I could not resist the cookies. They were thumb print cookies with the jam in the center, and peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss in the middle. Yum! Anyway, I did enjoy the company I was with. I came home early (5) and decided to make a dinner, so I made baked chicken, potato and steamed veggies. Felt kinda funny just coming home from a party and then making a whole meal. My food was so much better than the potluck. Funny thing is that there were around 40 people, and out of all the dishes they were unappealing to me. Happy I came home and made my own meal. DH was out surfing all day and was happy to come home to a hot dinner. And today is a brand new day with a brand new start!

We have done the same thing after many gatherings. I remind my husband we go to these things to be social and that is the focus. I find I have more fun that way and it reminds me that there are more meals to come. You did great. emoticon emoticon

Smart move, I feel that way about a lot of foods. People who prepare for pot lucks want their food to be tasty so they put lots of high calories stuff into the food. You are wise to wait and eat healthy.
