When I left for France at the end of April, I weighed 135 pounds. Now that I'm back I weigh 140 pounds. Someone asked me when I returned what my favorite part about my trip was, and I answered without a moment's thought, "THE FOOD!"

I thought all the walking (5 miles a day, at least), all the stairs at the Metro, and all the fruits and vegetables would keep my weight down. I did more than my share of exercise, but I ate every morsel of food set before me, including rich sauces, desserts and cheeses. I ate seconds and thirds at the breakfast buffet - who can resist those breads?

After I got home, I began scouring the internet for recipes like Coq au Vin and ordered Julia Child's books.

Then I stepped on the scale. Ooh-la-la! I'm back home and back down to earth. Time to atone!

    You went to France and only gained 5 pounds?!? I'd say you have very little to atone for and LOTS of fabulous memories!
