I am not a big morning person, I am more of a night owl. I am not one to jump out of bed and do some exercise. Most Sunday mornings you won't find me sitting in church, but out wandering along the trail through the woods near the creek by my house. It is here where I find serenity and marvel at the beauty of the earth. The sound of the creek tumbling over the rocks is soothing. There are birds singing, woodpeckers making noise and an occasional kingfisher swooping through grabbing a snack out of the creek. If I am early, I see the deer walking through, otherwise it is usually just the squirrels.

The springtime brings the trillium, right now the ferns are just starting to grow. Winter brings a blanket of snow and fewer singing birds, but a beauty all of its own.

So, today I head to the woods - a little late, so no deer - going to get my cardio, some serenity, and to take a moment to say thank you for this wonderful life.

This afternoon two of my granddaughters are coming over to help me plant my flowers that I bought yesterday (getting on the ground is a chore for me with my knees, so gardening is difficult). After planting we are going to grill some lunch.

Looking forward to a lovely day with those dear to me doing things I love. Does it get more perfect than that?

I hope you all have a great day. Keep sparking!

Love this scene...I see you out there in my head, Barbi! Thanks for the beautiful picture :-).
I personally always felt like I learned more about Who put us here in five minutes of silence in nature, than in an hour of sitting in a building on a Sunday.
I love that I'm not alone :-)

love you!

Not only all of that, but we certainly have a lovely day today, don't we? Sounds like a perfect morning. I haven't seen any trillium this year, and I'm sad about it. We used to have it growing in our yard at our old house, but that was many years ago, now. And I love the babble of a brook! Hope you're having a lovely time with your granddaughters. Happy Sunday!

Wonderful. You sound a lot like me.

I am fortunate to have the same type of area to enjoy. I love just watching the pond area. We have visiting ducks, geese and egrets. I also like watching the hawks hunt. My husband and son have seen an eagle. I have not been so lucky yet.

Enjoy you day!
