I am not a big morning person, I am more of a night owl. I am not one to jump out of bed and do some exercise. Most Sunday mornings you won't find me sitting in church, but out wandering along the trail through the woods near the creek by my house. It is here where I find serenity and marvel at the beauty of the earth. The sound of the creek tumbling over the rocks is soothing. There are birds singing, woodpeckers making noise and an occasional kingfisher swooping through grabbing a snack out of the creek. If I am early, I see the deer walking through, otherwise it is usually just the squirrels.
The springtime brings the trillium, right now the ferns are just starting to grow. Winter brings a blanket of snow and fewer singing birds, but a beauty all of its own.
So, today I head to the woods - a little late, so no deer - going to get my cardio, some serenity, and to take a moment to say thank you for this wonderful life.
This afternoon two of my granddaughters are coming over to help me plant my flowers that I bought yesterday (getting on the ground is a chore for me with my knees, so gardening is difficult). After planting we are going to grill some lunch.
Looking forward to a lovely day with those dear to me doing things I love. Does it get more perfect than that?
I hope you all have a great day. Keep sparking!
