Week 1 of 6

I did not meet my goals for this first week. I started to hit the rewind button but decided not to. I want to give myself an accurate picture. So this week was a learning week for me. Here is what I learned.

1. Do my research before I hit the grocery store. If I want to get more fiber and protein in my diet then wouldn't it make since to find information on increasing fiber and protein in your diet? I went to the store and bought my same old groceries. What made me think that was going to change my nutrition habits!!!!

2. Just Do It. Even on the days I don't feel like it. If I make a commitment to other people I honor that commitment whether I feel like it or not. I will get up and go. If I told a friend that I will meet you at the gym every day this week, it would take something drastic for me not to go. So, why wouldn't I keep that same promise to myself? Shouldn't I be a friend to myself and keep my word that I will exercise even on the days that I don't feel like it? YES

3. emoticon emoticon I did have my resume and transcripts analyzed and had to change a few things. I appreciated the advice.


I am so glad I did not hit the rewind button. It gave me a chance to reflect on this week and make true lasting changes. Well we will have to see about that. Anyway, emoticon for reading my blog.

    Never ever give up! This is your life and NO ONE is more important than YOU!

I had to learn that the hard way. Tipped the scales over 300 pounds - pre-diabetic and high blood pressure.

I am still not a member of the under 200 pound club, but it is in sight. Plus no meds for high blood pressure and no longer pre-diabetic.

I am so glad you realize the importance of you. I admire your commitment to yourself.

    I especially like #2 - Just do it..it is funny how it's so easy to break commitments to yourself or not even make them! Good luck with your goals. emoticon

    Good for you having your resume reviewed. Excellent idea. You can improve things when another set of eyes looks @ the information or how it's presented on the page.

Your 1st point about having to do the research about how to get more protein and fiber in your diet reminded me of a quote. I believe it was Albert Einstein who said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. You're so right that the only way you'll meet that goal and GET the foods that will accomplish that goal is by doing your homework. And making a list to go to the store and sticking with the list. I typically shop the perimeter of the store as that's where the healthiest foods generally are.

LOVE point #2. YES INDEED we have to be our own best friend! Sometimes that idea takes time to get used to but TAKE that time. It's wort it.

You're on th right path. Wishing you much succes wtih your job search.

    Actually, this sounds like a successful week - You didn't give up! You analysed what you are doing, and made plans to change! Good job!!
