I kind of feel like I'm getting sick. My allergies have been bothering me, but last night my throat kind of hurt when I swallowed and now I just feel kind of feels like it's more than just allergies. I dunno.

I'm planning to make a big pot of vegetarian chili today. I'll cook some whole wheat pasta to go with it later (we like "chili mac" in this house). I wanted to try a healthier pasta. Maybe if it's mixed with the chili, the whole wheat-ness won't be so harsh (never been a fan of the whole wheat pastas, but I know they are so much better for you). I'm also thinking about going to the gym today, maybe for some exercises and/or swimming. I just feel sick, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

ANYWAY. My real reason for writing this entry was to say that I got all seven of my raised beds planted this week. We finished last night. I also got some containers on my deck planted. I actually have eight beds if you count the "flower bed" underneath my bedroom window that I'm using for cucumbers. I really hope our garden does well this year! I'm very excited about it, and for the first time ever, I'm actually really enjoying gardening, instead of thinking of it as a pain in the butt. Granted, it IS a lot of work, but I enjoy it. We have three different kinds of tomatoes, two kinds of yellow squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, blackberries, apples, two kinds of pumpkins, broccoli, two kinds of cucumbers, sweet corn, two kinds of lettuce, spinach, carrots, beets, okra, peas, strawberries, and herbs (basil, oregano, dill, and cilantro). I want to get some rosemary, too. I'm pretty sure that's everything. If my garden does well, I'm going to buy that beginner's canning kit, too. I want to learn how to make pickles and jelly! How fun is this?? Maybe I've found a new hobby, finally.

Well, I'm getting hungry for some breakfast :)

    I do flower gardening and I love it. It's such a great stress reliever and it counts as exercise. I was surprised to find out how many calories I burned too!
