I commented a few weeks ago that I was cutting out wheat. I've done well with eliminating it. Last Sunday, I was at my daughter's soccer banquet and ate a little banana pudding, but avoided the nilla wafers in it (I thought). That evening, I had severe stomach pain and had to lie down (something I NEVER do!). I felt bad all day the next day.
I decided this weekend, when i didn't have a lot going on, I would try eating wheat. I am afraid that I won't know what is in the food when we are in Cancun, so I wanted to see how careful I have to be! Not worried about weight fluctuations, but I don't want to end up sick while we are there!
So, for dinner today I went totally off my plan and had pizza with dh, my 3 girls and oldest dd's boyfriend. Then I shared a pack of favorite cookies with my youngest dd. So far, no pain or other side effects. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. Maybe I won't have to be so incredibly careful on vacation. I'll still be aware, of course, just won't have to act like a crazy person about my food!
