Week 68...how the balancing act is going!!!

Saturday, May 25, 2013

Hi everyone,

This week I upped my carbs and did less exercise which to me was like a punishment!!!

My cals were up to 1200 or more every day and I ONLY did one to two hours of Zumba :) ...on one day I did none ...gasp... but I kept my two rest days.

I'm up .3 kgs so I'm up again to 75.3 kgs from my lowest on the 7th of May of 74.5. But I'm surprisingly not concerned (for me -Mrs Panic!!!) I'm more interested in getting back to that flow of losing and not slumping from undereating.

So a small adjustment planned this week, same exercise, lower cals by 100 cals per day. Also watch the type of carbs that my body processes well.

Looking forward to it!!!

On a non related note on the 4th of June my husband and I will have been married for 30 years!!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING...that we lasted this long :) ha ha...

'It was a rose garden wedding in my home town with family and friends from both sides in attendance, I wore a beautiful dress that cost most of my months pay at the time - a pale cream long gown with pearl buttons down the back and lace on the bodice, long sleeves, a hooped petticoat and a small veil.

We then went to a local venue and had the wedding breakfast where I soon realised why you get out of your dress quick after the wedding ceremony... it makes it easier to visit the loo...!!! Also bridesmaids come in handy...

then we returned to Mum and Dad's home and got ready for the guests to stop by, Hubby decided he had waited long enough and told me to bolt for the car.:)
Brother had pushed a potato in the exhaust pipe of our old old VW bug-which blew out when we started it and had written 'just married' in vaseline on the back window- which we discovered next day--- no wonder the cars following were tooting!!!
We had two days in a nearby town and then it was back to work. To me it was so romantic'

He is a wonderful man and has great taste LOL. I'm working on him to go out for an anniversary dinner. But it is almost impossible to get a "residential hermit" (my title for him) out of his cave.

So it may be a cafe for coffee and a scone.

For those wondering ...work has come and gone again but we have been paid so we trust that it will come again.

thanks so much for taking the time to read and comment on this blog I really appreciate your time and effort to keep me going :)

have a great week

Christine

Christine, It was sweet to read your wedding memories. We only had a 2 day honeymoon as well because I only had 2 days off from work and so did he. I forgot that until I read your blog. I'm in the process of changing my food and fitness by concentrating on healthy habits instead of a specific diet. Goals like eating 5-7 fruits and vegetables, drinking water instead of soda, exercise every day, and getting enough sleep etc. I hope the changes you make lead to weight loss. emoticon on your upcoming anniversary!

Congrats on the upcoming 30th anniversary! This year will be our 31st! Also in June. In fact, I came across my wedding dress while closet cleaning today, but did not open the box. Keep up with the Zumba. JK

Love your wedding discription. Almost feel like a guest! Congrats on your anniversary.

Please don't lower your calories. You may end up in starvation mode. That would be horrible. You've put in too much time and effort to spoil things.

Have a marvelous week!

That magic formula I call it, trying to figure it all out for your body is always something I am working on. But, I have to say again, as I mentioned before and SP has said, and even my Dr. told me when I visited a couple weeks ago. You have to eat enough calories to keep your body fueled or it will think it is starving and will hold onto every ounce you have to keep it healthy. I would pass out just eating 1200 calories a day! SP is always telling me by the end of the week, by tracking on their site, that I don't eat enough! Of course, that is me and I am not trying to tell you what to do, but just a hint of what I have learned and what others have said. Maybe try the Spark Solution book, I have heard quite a few people here have been saying they are losing with it. I am going to buy one this coming week when we get paid. I have hit plateau after plateau and it does get frustrating at times!
Hang in there! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Sounds like a lovely wedding and dress! Good work staying married that long! A couple of love birds! emoticon emoticon

Glad to see that you're not beating yourself up over that .3 kg gain. I like that you're experimenting with your intake, exercise and food choices to find that happy middle ground. Cheers!

Congrats on your upcoming 30th anniversary! It just seems like nobody makes that far anymore. If I could have managed to stay married, I would be celebrating 18 years on May 30th. But instead I only managed to get close to 3 years before it fell apart. My folks, on the other hand are like you guys, they will celebrate their 40th anniversary on June 8.

Christine..I enjoyed reading your blog entry about your upping your carbs, etc, plus, wedding memories..How sweet..and you are to be commended..being married for that long. It seems society generally doesn't value marriage any longer. I am thankful that there are loving couples in the world..like you and your husband.. Happy early anniversary..and may there be many more. Sharlene.
