MEMORIAL DAY

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

It is
the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

God, bless them all!!! And our families!

Makes You Proud To Be An American!

******

Take time to remember this weekend.

    So true!

I LOVE this blog, and I hope everybody remembers the true reason for Memorial Day!

I am so patriotic, that is why I volunteer with a group that sends items to active soldiers. We send them snacks, blankets, toiletries and other things they may need or want. We also have a pantry for military families. This is my PASSION! (to help these people.)

Have a wonderful Memorial Day and thanks for posting this blog!

This was so beautiful. We do need to remember why we have this holiday, it is not just for having a picnic, camping out, etc. We need to remember all the sacrifices made by our countrymen and women.

I love that! It is so true! I hope you don't mind but I shared it on my facebook page. My brother is a 20 year veteran, retired now, and I've always been so proud of him. His daughter, my niece, is going into the marines next spring. She's already signed up for delayed entry.
