Sorry for the unplanned absence, and believe me, it WAS unplanned. My visit to the cardiologist was ok - given meds to lower my blood pressure, have been scheduled for a cardiac stress test/ultrasound on June 7, and also a request has been sent to my own GP requesting he arrange for me to be tested for sleep apnoea as soon as possible.
Nothing was or is dramatically wrong, the reason I wasn't online all this time is because the bp meds have been making me so tired and I've been sleeping for around 14 hours per night, plus the occasional day time naps. I was warned that the first week would be a period of adjusting to having a far lower blood pressure level than my body has become accustomed to, told to expect a little dizziness (none of that, thankfully), weakness (lots of that for the first few days), and tiredness... I just wasn't expecting to be so very very tired, lol. Let's just say that after all those years of only maybe 5 hours of sleep per night, often less, I have well and truly made up my sleep debt!
I've been trying to be good so far as food is concerned, but admit to resorting to unhealthy choices almost continually the past four days. Good thing is that on Thursday of last week, I did weigh myself and thankfully hadn't gained anything. Not expecting this coming week will be as satisfactory a weigh in though. Exercise has been really limited, and on quite a few days there was next to none, again due to extreme tiredness.
Time to pick myself up, climb back on to the wagon, and get back to the healthy eating I was so enjoying, as well as gradually increasing my exercise. These past days are NOT going to make me give up. I just need to regain my focus and motivation.... and hopefully a few more hours of wakefulness in my days!
