So, after writing my last blog about being back in the 120's, I started thinking about maintenance again. I wandered into several calorie calculator sites. Every last one of them told me to maintain my weight, I have to eat 1650 calories a day.

I guarantee that if I ate 1650 calories a day, I would continue to lose weight. How do I know?

Because I pretty much eat 1650 calories a day NOW...and I lose weight.

Whoever designed these calculators needs to readjust their numbers, because I know that for me, maintenance is going to look more like 1650-2000 calories a day. I guess I'll just have to trust my own instincts, keep an eye on my scale, and listen to my body.

Every body is different and you are right to be suspicious of calculators that are for the average person. You know yourself and your body better.

You are right not to trust calculators. They are not a "one size fits all". You can trust only your experience with you own body. You have done very well and seen good results, so you must be doing things right.
