Devotional thoughts for today

Friday, May 24, 2013

When I opened my daily devotional book [Love out Loud by joyce meyer] this morning it fell open to a well marked and worn page back on March 29th
I decided to share it here rather than go further with my Boundaries series today.
"Let God do the healing"
Ps 30:2 Oh Lord me God, I cried to You and YOU have healed me.
(the last paragraph) When you have a 'wound' of some sort, whether it is disappointment, betrayal, abandonment, rejection or other hurtful situation, DON'T keep probing it! Go to God and ask Him to heal you in the way HE KNOWS BEST FOR YOU. Then take your hands off. Don't try to "fix it" yourself. Follow the holy Spirit as He leads you to healing and wholeness.
Is there a wound in your heart that you have probed too much? Ask God to heal it ; stay sensitive to HIS Spirit and let Him bring new life and strength to you.

I needed to read this today. I am going to pray this Psalm every day and believe it has already happened for me. Thank you so much.

Very timely devotion as we are so sad about my brother's divorce. He is so mentally and physically ill. The more he needs God and his family, the more he pushes us all away. He has taken things into his own hands and "fixed" his problems. He really needed to read and act on your devotion. Instead, because of his behavior, his wife, child and the dog are frantically looking for a place to live. All of us wish that he had gone to God and returned to his church life.

Love this, and thank you for sharing. Would love to have you be a part of our christian fellowship and be a part of my new team, "Where the Spirit Leads". This devotional profoundly speaks to me and something that I have been dwelling on way too long. As much as I have tried to give it to God I guess in some small way I felt it was still my place to try to "fix it". I know now it is out of my hands, and I am at peace with that.

Thank you so very much and hope you'll consider being a part of the team.

God Bless, Debbie (leader of "Where the Spirit Leads, and "Journey to a new YOU"
