A new year, a new outlook.
I haven't really been active on Sparkpeople at ALL since September (maybe longer), but not only did I maintain my newfound lost weight, but I even managed to lose a little as well. I plugged in my new weight, and I'm officially out of obese and into overweight! I don't know if anybody else has ever been this happy to be just plain ole' overweight.
I've taken up hooping. As in hoop-dance. I love how free-form it is, and how easily 15 minutes can turn into an hour... even if that means I have less time to get ready for work some mornings.
No longer living with my Man. But we're still together, and the space from each other is doing good things for our relationship. In this new space, though, smoothies are my friend. My roommate has a VitaMix 5000 (can i get a "Heck Yeah!"?), and green smoothies have been abounding. Ginger, kale, strawberries, mint, spinach, carrots, cucumber and pomegranate juice are common ingredients.
Trying my hand at a garden this year. Small - 2 Zebra tomatoes, 2 each Hungarian Wax and Banana peppers, 3 Ichiban eggplants and 2 Charentais melons. I probably spelled the melon name wrong. Lord knows I can't even pronounce it.
Keeping active, keeping motivated. Current goals are to take up Zumba again - I definitely feel like my cardio endurance is down, and I need it up up up for the summer (you know, hiking and the like).
