Read today the dangers of extreme fitness. Apparently the stresses of putting your body through extreme endurance sports negates or reverses the benefit of the execise.

I did complete the NYC marathon once. While training for a 2nd marathon isn't high on my bucket list (who made up that term? I don't like it. Perhaps I need to find a better one), it is that much lower now.

What is important to many of us however is the note that running (jogging/walking) 30 miles or so a week has massive benefits, improving life expectancy 6 years, beyond the day to day advantages of feeling better in the process.
