Today is my 30th consecutive day that I have logged into Spark People. I originally joined in 2009 but did little to nothing until a month ago. Last summer when my husband and i were visiting my daughter in Manhattan someone took a photo of me with my cell phone and when i saw it I burst into tears because I saw.... really saw.... how overweight I had become. That light a flame of determination to do something about it but it took until April when my trainer at the gym had a big talk with me about nutrition, the importance of writing down everything I ate (something I was convinced was really important but I hated to do it and had never been successful in getting past noon) and the need to "eat clean". That was on a Monday and on Wednesday I committed to myself to DO SOMETHING. That day I got back onto Spark People and today is my 30th day. I've lost 8.8 lbs so far, actually 23 since I got really sick in Jan and lost some weight. I find Spark People so very helpful and find the very act of logging my weight onto my tracker an act of accountability and I want to see it gradually go down. I've joined other weight loss online programs but I truly think Spark People is the best and it doesn't cost me anything. It's such fun to have friends I've never met and I know we are all walking the walk together.
