When I talked with my orthopedist about what kind of exercise I could do without hurting my knee, he recommended an elliptical, cycling and/or swimming. Last Saturday, my son and I found what is hopefully going to help with that. Since I can't afford a pool and don't really have access to one, I was left with the elliptical or cycling. We found (and purchased!) a hybrid elliptical/recumbent bike. I had never heard of one but we saw it at a store at the mall that sells exercise equipment. We talked at length with the guy at store and explained that both of us have bad knees. Unfortunately, my son has had surgery on both of his knees. He recommended that we start off slowly on the recumbent bike and work up to the elliptical. It was delivered this afternoon. I've gotten back on track with my food and now it's time to add the exercise back. So excited!!
