A big decision!

Thursday, May 23, 2013

At my doctors appoint last week i was rather surprised to hear what the doctor and the assistant had to say. i new ahead of time I was aware of the thorough exam they would be doing on my Vagus Nerve Stimulator(VNS). The VNS is a pacemaker like device used to control seizures and I have had great success with it- i've been seizure free almost 7 years! The test showed that the electrode that runs up the left side of my neck wasn't working properly. In other words, I should be having seizures but i'm not. So the doctor said we would leave it alone for now. This after noon I received a phone call from my case manager for the VNS program and after talking to her I had second thoughts and decided to go ahead and have a second opinion. So, for now it's sit and wait until i hear something. emoticon
