I was home sick Tuesday and Wednesday, stomach & headache stuff. So not fun. I literally spend the last 2 days in bed or on the couch! I am pretty sure this isn't what they had in mind when they said to "taper." Along with my head, my entire body now has that I was just smacked down by the flu ache.
I pretty much made myself get up and go to work today, I needed to start moving around, and I knew if I stayed home it would be back in bed for me. So far, so good. I don't feel well - but I am not miserable. Luckily I am reviewing video and training materials, so I can just hide in my office and do my own thing.
Thanks to my new juicer I am feeling nice and refreshed instead of all dehydrated from feeling sick. Fresh juice is a miracle worker, I can't even describe how happy it makes my insides. Now if I could just kick some lingering stomach stuff to the curb I'd be all set. Oh and buy more veggies & fruits to juice up.
Our weather has taken another cool dive , we have gone from nice 80 degree weather back to the rainy 40's and 50's. Race day is calling for 60 and cloudy.
Race packet pick-up is tomorrow. I am behind on getting ready for race day, I have no idea what I am planning on wearing. Although it's really just a matter of choosing something, most of my running gear has been tested pretty thoroughly this past year. I just always panic at the last moment and dress to warm!! Note to self, don't dress to heavy - less is more.
I put the husband on tap for an early morning ride in and the entire family on notice to be at the finish line! Feeling a bit guilty about that - since it will be a hassle for them to get out there, park, and get to the finish line. But after running my 1st 1/2 I know that you should at least get a cheer at the finish line, a hug, and a ride home. (Sides how many soccer games/ basketball/ track meets have I been to this year?!)
I have a nice and easy 2 mile on tap for tomorrow morning. Fingers-crossed the body is ready for Saturday! 13.1 miles X 2 baby.
