Life is still going strong. The streak of positive health got derailed though...

Basically I've blogged about her in the past, but if you look back a few months there was a girl working in my lab who is delusional and horrible at science. She also happens to think the world revolves around her and she is a genius and we should all bow down to her superior knowledge. Now as I just said, she is horrible at science, so her skills and attitude do not complement each other. She failed. Miserably. And she also went out of her way to make our lives and work in the lab stressful and annoying. She was kicked out a few months ago and since not one of the eight labs she had worked in were willing to take her, she had to get a masters degree and was kicked out of the PhD program.

So she's suing us now for discrimination. Seriously. I can't get into the details--its not technically a lawsuit yet, but lawyers are involved--but she as a Native American female is being discriminated against by 3 females (one of them part Native American -- me) and one male and the curators of the university. SO needless to say that was a ball of stress and nerves and f*ck it I need beer and pizza. Her complaint is delusional and has no basis, so I'm sure its not going to get to a point of a real lawsuit -- but as I mentioned she's delusional... so she might try something. We thought this was over months ago, so this was out of the blue.

SO that happened. I'm still bouncing around. Last weekend was graduation. I went home Friday and unpacked and organized. Saturday was stressful driving back to Columbia for a late night graduation, then back to St. Louis the same night.

It was stressfull. Its over. Yay--I'm graduated. Now job stuff. I've been applying, but I got an email yesterday saying they might have found money to pay my post-doc until I get a grant (YAY!) so I need to get off the internet and back to work.

Congrats again on graduating. I'm so jealous! Job searching seems like a pain in the butt, I am not looking forward to it. All I have done is submitted my CV to CSU biology department in hopes of getting some sort of teaching gig. I'm having trouble focusing on writing. Colorado is fun and infinitely better than DC. I am gardening, swimming, biking, walking, board gaming, and Dr. Whoing. Reuniting with my bf and 2 other cats is wonderful too. All in all my quality of life has increased by 23782732.

Anyway, good luck with the job hunt!

So sorry!!! She may not have a case, but likely the suit would be settled if it is filed, just to avoid the headache emoticon

Just take care of you, girl. And congrats on the graduation and prospects of getting paid! emoticon

I can't stand when people are essentially stupid, and then try to blame their failures on everyone else!!
