Young people do not understand all this social media can destroy relationships

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Good Morning, yesterday was my DS birthday. He is happily sleeping when several hundred text messages come in from various "friends" from actual live friends and friends from social media. they were greeting him with a Happy Birthday. Well some of them were vulgar picture texts. Guess who sees them. GF flipped out b/4 DS could say that this is a joke. This happens all the time to soldiers, but to her she is not laughing. She is ready to take baby and leave.
Some of the texts are from old GFs who want to take up with him again and others are offering their services. You name it. Saying they want his baby......
My son is very charismatic and attracts girls like flies- always has. This has been an issue in their relationship. That "his friends" just feel that they can talk to him at any time by texting. These "friends" have gotten him through trying times like Iraq.
Some of them are from his junior high and high school. I told them they need couple counseling. GF called her foster parents and they want her to fly to Las Vegas to stay with them. I know with all the stuff that has been happening with my son - living with him is tough. My grandbaby is like a weapon. She will take her away from him. DS is now talking marriage thinking this will calm her.
He is just desperate to keep his child in state. emoticon emoticon

It was strange, yesterday, I went to a filming of a live TV show, boring but anyway, before we got to go in we sat in rows of seats, mostly sat but a man told us what to expect etc, anyway, I counted the number of people who were texting, looking at apps or whatever, and 2 of the gals I went with was doing it also, constantly, not talking to each other at all, I said to my friend, to count the ones who weren't, but we were in the minority for sure. strange, there seems to be no oral/personal communication any more

I agree, young people today do not know how to communicate. Prayers and hugs for all.

I totally agree that social media is changing the next generation. Relationships take time and energy. I will pray for this situation and that it will resolve peacefully for all. Maybe this will be a wake up call...and somewhere in this situation there is a blessing....look for it. emoticon
