OUR SELFISH SCHEDULES

When calamity comes in another person’s life, our mindset changes and we become more caring and helpful to that person. When deadly disaster hits, people begin to change their lifestyles so they are living more for God and doing the right thing for others. Why do wait for something bad to happen in a person’s life or a disaster in the world, before we reach out to others? Let’s decide and set goals today and every to put aside our selfish schedules and do good deeds as God has called us to, no matter what.

Matthew 16:27 “For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds.” (NLT)

Revelation 22:12 “Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know You promise to reward us for our good deeds yet there are times we still don’t do them. We have to be reminded about helping others through bad situations in life. Help us today, Lord, to have that desire to help others not for the reward but because it is the right thing to do. Help us to put aside our things of the world and our selfish schedules and look for ways to sincerely help others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

In the time it takes to play a game or two on the Internet, we could have done a good deed for someone.

Life isn’t about doing what we want. It is about helping others get what they want.

Rather than waiting on something bad to happen in a person’s life, go ahead today and show them you care by discovering their needs and helping them.

We need to put aside our selfish schedules and ask God to give us plans and set goals that will help others.

We aren’t here for selfish gain. We are here to serve God and help others.

Psalm 119:36 “Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.” (NIV)

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; Ecclesiastes 3:1

Galatians 6 Brethren, even if [a]anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. 5 For each one will bear his own load.

And yet we know, from 1 Corinthians 13 that if these are acts of love, it is not boastful.

Ooops, should I not have added backups for this that I love? Thank you. Have a beautiful and blessed week.
