So I have been on this weightloss adventure now for 16 months. During this time I have lost 80 lbs and I feel amazing. There have been periods where weightloss has slowed and or stopped as I exercised less and indulged in a few more paleo treats but with that said I have been able to maintain my weight because I have finally found a lifestyle rather than a diet.
I find myself enjoying exercise and willingly doing a minimum of 3 hours of intense exercise a week because I like it and want to. I know what foods make me sick now and as long as I stick to paleo I do not gain weight, I do not need to count my calories and I never feel hungry or deprived.
16 months ago I embarked on this paleo journey and I will never look back. It is the best thing I have ever done and although I still have about 50 lbs left to lose I know I can do it.
Now I have been taking it pretty slack and basically just following the diet and exercising when I feel like or have time to. This has worked and I am happy with the results I have now plus I have a base I know I can stick with. With that said though I want to lose the last 50 over the next 6 - 8 months and not over the next year. This is a weightloss of less than 10 lbs a month which is healthy and more than ideal. I want to concentration on toning and also work towards running a 10k. I am also going to track my calories for a bit. In the beginning I was tracking not how much I was eating but what I was eating to make sure I was following the diet and to make myself accountable. Now though I will need to actually cut calories back to acheive the weightloss as I no longer weigh 265 lbs. The weight wont just melt off me now it is going to take a little bit more effort on my part to acheive this but I am 100% up for the tast!
I have never been prouder of myself than I have been this past year. Proud that I stuck with it and that I put myself and my health ahead of anything else. Proud that I have been teaching my son healthy habits and that I am now healthy.
