From Mommy to Mom

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Well my baby had her 8th grade graduation tonight. Now I have 2 teenagers officially in high school. I feel old.

My daughter had a really good time tonight. After her graduation ceremony, there was a short reception in the school cafeteria. Then there was a dance at one of the church halls. My kids attend a catholic school grades K-12, so we won't be changing to a new school. But my daughter is losing 2 close friends who have decided to move to a different school. These kids have been together since kindergarten and a total of 7 are leaving to attend a new high school. So that part was kind of sad.

It's been finals week and the beginning of baseball season. So this week has been full and really busy. I'm ready for summer break to begin. My health schedule has been pretty much missing this week, what with all the kids' stuff going on, but it will slow down because tomorrow is the last day of school. Then I get back on track.

None of the schools I attended had a graduation ceremony per se except for graduating from high school of course. Ninth grade was considered junior high school or middle school though and we had an awards ceremony for different goofy things before we went on to high school.

Glad you'll be able to get back on track with your healthy schedule after today!

Our school doesn't have an 8th grade graduation ceremony. Bummer, cause that is such a big milestone. I'm still trying to hang on to the denial that my son will be in high school next year. With both hands. Knuckles white. emoticon

I love watching my kids go from stage to stage. I have some married with kids, one getting married soon and one in the military and one in college (still living home and 19 yrs old), and 2 other teens, an almost 16 and a 17 yr old! I look at how tall they are, (I am officially the shortest one in my family now) and yes, I do feel OLD!!! lol Hey, when those grandbabies start coming, you're feel young again!!!

You must be from the south, We're still in school and they won't be getting out until mid June!!! You're a lucky duck! lol

I LOVE baseball season!!!
