37th Wedding Anniversary today!

Wow- 37 years today! Very low key for us. We went and bought The Hobbit movie and did McDonald's for dinner just a Quarter Pounder with cheese. Our first date was a t a McDonalds so it seemed appropriate.

We stopped at Cabela's too to check out reloading supplies- no luck. Visited with someone we know that works there for a bit.

That is the good news for today, bad new is the results from my bloodwork. Saw the Dr today and my Cholesterol is back up to 260. And I crossed the line into Diabetic also with 6.2 reading.
Have prescription to help manage both, will meet with a dietitian for coaching and will really need to get on the stick for eating and exercise. My backwards slide has to end!

So here we go!

    emoticon Wow, that is a long time! I used to be on meds for diabetes and cholesterol, but I lost all that weight and don't need them anymore. My LDL is still just a tad high, but it is coming down with a heallthy diet and exercise.

    emoticon We, too, tend to do low-key anniversaries. Sorry about the bad blood work. Be sure to tell the dietitian that you use Spark People. It really helps with tracking food. If she (or he) wants you to count carbs you can do that using the nutrition tracker. You can figure out how many carbs each meal has. I hope you got a prescription for diabetes meds. Some physicians still want to do the diet and exercise thing first. My cardiologist considers that a prescription for heart problems. He says high blood levels just coat everything with sugar. He did a fellowship at Joslin Diabetes Center which is the premiere institute for diabetes treatment and an affiliate of Harvard Medical School so he knows what he's talking about. The first thing you have to do is to get the blood sugar level under control and you do that with meds, diet, & exercise. Then you can try reducing the meds. The diet and exercise will help bring down the cholesterol too. You really have to think of d&e as a prescription and not just something you do because you want to live a healthy lifestyle. It now is what you so you will live.
