My First Blog Entry :)

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Okay, I do not think I have ever made a blog entry in any of the three times I signed back up for SP, so this is a first for me.

I am working on getting back in to losing weight. I had made it to 170 a few years ago, and gained it all back because I became very ill. I still am, but the weight only aggravates it.

I have a cold right now, probably because I am on an immunosuppressive for my autoimmune problems. For those who may not know what autoimmune is, it means that my body attacks good cells. Somehow the wiring is crossed and my body fights off cells that are good, because it is tricked in to believing they are diseased cells. Resulting in me being ill. Quite confusing I know.

You can do this. You are already on the right track. You have a great attitude in that you will not let your illness overcome you. Keep blogging! The more you connect with others, the more you realize that there are many people to support you. I do not have an illness, but I down the road of gaining and loosing and I am BACK AGAIN! The good news... WE ARE BACK!!

I know about autoimmune disease as they thought I had one when I was a teen. I am on a team that does very low calorie days alternating with regular calorie days, this works to help with autoimmune troubles. Asthma is cured doing this style of eating, you just have to stay with it, but no meds needed to keep breathing. You lose weight pretty fast as well, some faster than others.

I'm so glad you made your first blog. That will give you confidence in making your 2nd one, etc.! I know what you mean about having an auto-immune disease and I worry about getting sick too but am doing pretty well with not, so far. I have RA so that's how I know about the auto-immune part. I've had RA since November of 2008 and have been on Prednisone since then and we all know about how that drug can cause weight gain. I've lost 67# with being on it though and have gained about 10# back and have lost my motivation but can feel that it's coming back little by little. Hope so anyway! Today I was over my ranges, but that's getting alot better too. emoticon emoticon Take care and we'll both keep pushing!

Welcome back! I had problems regaining weight too when I had a flare of my disease. When I joined Sparkpeople three years ago, I lost all my weight and have been able to keep it off in spite of multiple surgeries that laid me up. I am eternally grateful to this website and the wonderful people I have met on here. Tracking my food and fitness carefully and accurately is what did it for me. I still track today and always will.
Its good that you are blogging. keep it up! Its not only how I met my best Spark buddies, it also helps you keep accountable as you report what you did in a day and get support when you are having a low day (as we all do)
The key is to never give up and never give in. You can do this!

The good news is you are here now and you are fighting your disease. Don't focus on where you were focus on where you are going. Remember each day is a success and celebrate ever ounce you lose and ever NSV no matter how small they seem to you. Because when your combating a disease every victory is a big one. The Gathering of Goddesses (GG's) are there for you every step of the way.

Blessings,
Eva

Welcome to the world of Blogging. I remember my first Blog post (which was not that long ago). I really enjoy Blogging now. Spark People give such amazing feedback and encouragement when you give them the opportunity. If people don't know what's going on in your life, they can't encourage you. I hope that you feel encouraged by the responses that you have received.
