so much to get done

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

I can harldly believe that next Friday is our relay walk. I have so much to get done before than. Today went shopping at Kohl's since I had a 30% off everything coupon and bought some clothes for Cameron's birthday which is June 3rd but not having his party until June 9th. Also picked up some shorts for Noella to go with her little summer dresses I have to get made. Still working on making more bracelets for the Relay and need to think about food and drinks to bring with me. Has anyone done a long walk and/or run who could give me some clue as to what and how much I should be eating and drinking during the event. last year I know I didn't eat enough and was only drinking water. I walked over 20miles during the event and by Saturday morning I was feeling nauseous and exhausted. Also had leg cramps off and on all day. Did feel better after coming home, having something to eat and sleeping all day.
Of course both of my daughters will be there and they will probably be sitting on me if they have to so I don't overdo it. I still feel I should be able to do the same things I did when I was younger but my body doesn't always agree with me.
Hope everyone is having a fun time this week.

This isn't exactly what I was looking for; but, maybe this article will give you some ideas about what and how much to eat while you are doing the relay.

I'm not sure about what specifically to eat, Mary. But, I'd think you definitely could use some good protein to keep you going (probably well-balanced snacking is called for) and maybe some sports drinks with electrolytes instead of just water. If I can find an article on this, I'll be back.
