Anyone get this...

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Yesterday I started getting a pain in the butt....really this sharp pain in my right butt cheek. Not sure what is up with that but it really smarts! I couldn't walk the doggies their whole walk today. I put some ice hot type cream on it but still really sore. So I guess I need to rest it. Any other advise?

Just wondering if anyone else out there has experienced this.

On another note, I am feeling still pretty good although another fitful night's sleep. Fell asleep just fine but then at 4:30 wide away. Perhaps my body doesn't need as much sleep. Oh well.

I still am so happy to not be desperately sick. I am counting my blessings.
Hope all of you are doing wonderful today.
Make it a great day.

I am sending you all my positive vibes. I just went thru a down time and I know it is because I lost all my possitive attitude and as soon as I had a long talk with myself, I felt 99% better. Will be praying for you and thinking positive thoughts for you

I vote Piriformis Syndrome - and you can "google/bing" for simple stretches to do to help alleviate it.

Sending good thoughts and vibes your way!

Ice for 20 minutes off and on. Good massage therapist or a hard foam roller also help.

My vote is for sciatica, especially if it travels down towards the leg. Sort of pain that has no focus, it all hurts. If so, I found walking helped ease it. So did a control girdle, as it supports all the muscles in the back.

I'd vote for sciatica, too. If I slump around too much, I get right sided sciatica that can start in my butt, lower hip, or jump straight to my calf. NSAIDS, ice & heat, and standing up straighter help me.

You've just gone from not moving much to long dog walks. Maybe your body is trying to tell you you did too much too soon. Anyway, I hope it goes away quick.

THank goodness--I thought I was the only one who ever had this!! A couple of years ago, I woke up one morning with shooting pain in my right butt. I couldn't sit on it for two weeks. I iced and rested and it did gradually get better. I also started doing some exercises which helped. Lie on your back and bring your knee to your chest, leg bent and hold. Straighten it and hold. Very easy and very gradual.

Piriformis Syndrome

If it continues, I'd get it checked out. **SIGH** Have you tried sitting on a heating pad then alternating with ice?

For sure do whatever stretchin you can do, but GENTLE!

HUGS and hope it feels better quickly. Glad to hear physically you're feeling better.

All of the things that have been mentioned come to mind. You have issues with arthritis and inflammation, so it could be that or maybe your recent walks after a rest period were too much too sudden.
Hope it feels better soon!

It might be sciatica like Cirandella suggests. You may want to ask about it, because if that is what is the matter, It could spread down your leg.

I'm so sorry to hear about this new pain you've got, Sallie. I wonder if it's something like sciatica or piriformis syndrome. If it persists, I'd definitely ask your doctor about it. She'd be in the best position to diagnose and treat this... You're such a positive lady! I hate to see these things happening to you... emoticon

i have arthritis and fibromyalgia, so I get that once in awhile. I do not know you or your health history, but perhaps you have some sort of arthritis? remember, under that butt cheek is your pelvic area. bone..
Sometimes mine shoots around to my spine.. I massage it or if the nerve endings right under the skin are too tender, I apply a Native American salve called "Minagin" ( from which relieves my arthritis and fibro pain most of the time.
I hope yours goes away soon.
