The Eagle and the Hawk by John Denver

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

I just wanted to share this with you all music lovers but especially John Denver fans and to my friends here in SP who I know love music and/or John Denver (KATWELL88, PRACTICINGPEACE AND DESERTDREAMERS). I can play some of his music on my guitar. Here is one of my MOST favorite of his songs:
?v=Nf7qEvXBW_k (Live Concert)

I am the eagle, I live in high country
In rocky cathedrals that reach to the sky

I am the hawk and there's blood on my feathers
But time is still turning, they soon will be dry

And all of those who see me, all who believe in me
Share in the freedom I feel when I fly

Come dance with the west wind and touch on the mountain tops
Sail over the canyons and up to the stars
And reach for the heavens and hope for the future
And all that we can be and not what we are. emoticon emoticon

Love, Chelsea

I saw your comment on Kathyscollies page and had to come see your blog! LOVED John Denver, of course still love his music. Even saw him in concert and what an awesome concert it was!!!! Sure wish he hadn't gotten on the plane! emoticon
The Eagle and the Hawk is one of my faves of his! His music always makes me smile, laugh and always want to sing with it!!
My husband is a guitar player too and he can play all his music and sings pretty good too! Has even performed a few times on stage at our gatherings of friends and once at amateur night at a restaurant long ago.
Thanks for the memories!!! emoticon

John Denver - how could anyone forget his wonderful melodious voice and the always beautiful, sometimes heart wrenching but also sometimes wonderfully humerous lyrics.

His music takes me down so many wonderful memories of good as well as the not so good times in my life when his music just simply "spoke to me" and improved my day.

I have several of his CDs - even still have several of his albums - and his Christmas album / CD is always one of the first to be played once I start listening to my Christmas music every year.

Such a shame that he was taken from us so early, but how wonderful that we can still enjoy his music to this day.

I met him when I was about 18. He was real quiet and shy then, but after he became well known, he changed big time lol. He had the prettiest voice. I still love his music. Thanks!

John Denver's music ALWAYS stopped me right in my tracks! I LOVED his beautiful melodious crystal clear voice. I moped for weeks when I heard of his death. Then I remembered the saying about how "the good die young" I figured he had completed his earth mission of inspiring and comforting SO many during his young life here on earth.

It's so astounding how music heals our soul and reaches our emotions on depths that nothing else can ever touch. We must acoustically be plugged into the vibrational energy of the universe when we listen to our tunes.

I'm impressed that you play the guitar! Josh was just learning it and loved it!

Hugs to you my beautiful and dear friend! Thank you for reminding us about John Denver and his beautiful verses. He was a true genius! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon and now...when I hear his music, I'll happily think of you too! emoticon

Love that song and I have my son loving it too! Although he agrees that it is too short! So sad we lost John Denver so young. I am thankful we saw him concert before he passed.
