Feeding Sharks, A Horizontal Waterfall, and PEARLS, Oh My!!

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I am not sure when or why "Swimming With Sharks" became a Dream of mine. But somehow it did, and when Ann told me that there would be Shark Feeding and Swimming on this Trek, she couldn't have kept me away with a whole Army!! I have enjoyed so many Adventures in the past few weeks that it is hard to find the Words to do justice to all of it. Putting it all together had to have been an ENORMOUS Undertaking, No Matter how much Ann enjoyed doing it!!
I know that I won't be able to do it justice but I want to give you at least a faint idea of Our Shark Experience!!

The Staff was obviously VERY Knowledgeable and patient as they answered our 1,001 Questions. They seemed to understand that as excited and anxious as we were, it was still a little nerve wracking to actually be In The Water with an animal that COULD decide that you would make a Nice Lunch!!
But finally we were all in there and we were having a Blast. The Sharks seemed to enjoy rubbing up against our legs, but they weren't in the least bit aggressive -- except when they grabbed the Chunks of Food, LOL!! I think I screamed every time they jumped up at the food and the people back in Perth are probably wondering what the racket was! I think I might have embarrassed Ann a little, but she just told me to Shush or I'd scare the Sharks!!

Another part of that exciting day was the Thrill Ride through the Horizontal Waterfalls!! I am surprised Joan or I either one had a Voice left after all that screaming we did!! We may have damaged Kacey's hearing permanently!! It was WONDERFUL and I would do it again in a heart beat!!
We also went to a Pearl farm and visited a Church in Beagle Bay that has a Pearl Altar that was Beyond BEAUTIFUL. I will save that for another Blog. I really want to make sure I get ALL the details right and do some justice to the History of the Beagle Bay area and the Aboriginal Community there.
But I can't wait to show you the Necklace & Earrings I bought (Thanks to my Spark Credit Card!!). Not sure if the color will come through but the little pearls have a very pale pink hue to them. They were worth EVERY Virtual Penny I Paid For Them!!

Wouldn't they look Great on a Black or maybe a Burgundy Evening Gown?! Or maybe I will just wear them with my Pink Camo as we continue Trekking across Australia!

Did you see the teeny little Swarovski Crystals sprinkled among the pearls!? They are just TOO Pretty!!

Excellent blog LJ! emoticon I was not too sold on swimming with sharks, anymore than I would be on wrestling with saltwater crocodiles!! I was happy to watch those who did go in to swim and feed the sharks and take pics from a safe distance....
The pink pearls are splendid! Really enjoyed the blog!

Wow! Amazing!! Don't think I would be in on that swimming with the sharks, think I would prefer dolphins like my sister got to swim with in Mexico. A horizontal waterfall = whitewater rapids? I went down some once, quite the rush..
That necklace is beyond gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your adventures!!

Love the pearls -- real pearls and an Australian opal on a real wish list for many years. The virtual experience of checking these out has been much more economical. Thanks for another fun blog. This is the only way I would swim with the sharks!

Womderful blog......as you said, words cannot do justice to any of our adventures both on the last trek and this one....seriously, I am having so much fun that I may never leave......thanks, Ann, so much for putting up with us....larrikins that we are.....*grin* :P and thank you again and again for putting together both trek..yes, I know they were a labor of love, but I also know what an incredible amount of work and research went into them as well. I also know how difficult it was to narrow it down to the many adventures that we are sharing....I know that I certainly find it difficult to just narrow my blogs down to one or two most important events.......in my book, they all are, Right, Jeannie?

Loved the cartoons about how sharks feel about humans......makes perfect sense to me....*grin*
again, fantastic blog..........wooooooooohoooo! and away we go on another adventure..... emoticon emoticon
