Today I planned on walking this morning but Mom asked for some help with some clerical work. She is putting a history book together and was going around to various people that had photos and articles for her and needed someone to help type and crop the photos once they were scanned. It was a time of a lot of waiting and a lot of rushing. We really didn't get anything done until about 2:30 and then I was busy right up until 7pm. Once I got home it was 7:30 but still bright out and I decided to go for my walk. Since it was late, I decided to walk in the cemetery across the road. I stopped walking there at night after hours because it is so isolated and I was uncomfortable with a certain night visitor last fall that I decided to walk during the day when the workers were there. It was either the cemetery or take my chances on the major highway that I live on and since it was getting dark, I chose the cemetery. It really is a nice spot. I used to go for walks there with my Dad when I was little and look at all the graves of my ancestors and hear stories about them. I guess it seems a little odd but it was peaceful. Not scary at all. Here are some pics from my walk.
I am getting excited about working and paying off some bills. The collection departments are calling but I know things will get better now that I am no longer in school and am working. It just takes some financial recovery time. Once I take care of the urgent bills, I can take care of the higher interest things. I just have to be patient.
I keep my spirit stone close to me to remind me of my goal. It has a snake on it for independence and shrewdness. I aim for independence and definitely need shrewdness to achieve it. I had to look at the definition when I saw that the snake was also for shrewdness because I thought it meant more like a cunning wisdom in a sneaky or selfish way but that is not what it is at all. It is to be wise and practical and not to be deceived. It is keen awareness, sharp intelligence, and a sense of the practical. After seeing that, I really like it. I don't like to deceive or trick people but I do recognise that a person must be able to recognize when they are being deceived. I want that ability and definitely feel that it would come in handy in the classroom especially.
