I have absolutely no idea how to track exercises. At least: not what I'm doing with the fitness challenge.
Everybody has to show up for fitness training at LEAST 3x a week. And it's a 45 minute workout in a group setting. And they work your butt off. One guy said the first week he puked afterwards every single time he went (but only the first week). I guess I've not worked out that hard. Oh: that guy lost 104 pounds since he started (not sure how long ago that was).
The trainers vary the workouts a bit each time, but they all include doing 3 - 5 laps jogging to warm up, then a variation of crunches, lunges, burpees, bicycle crunches, push-ups, planks (I'll just say variety of planks as they do sideways ones, backwards ones, etc)... actually they do variations on ALL things. Kangaroo hops across the room. High knee running. donkey kicks which is a variation of crunch almost. or not. What else have they inflicted upon us??? Oh: various twisting exercises. Saturday had some balancing exercises and kick-boxing and shadow-boxing type stuff. I felt the muscles in my ribs and back for 2 days after.
So far I'm doing modified versions. Essentially half as many as the rest of the class, and most modified in some way so I can actually do them... but working towards getting more done, and eventually do the un-modified versions. Still: my leg muscles are trembling, and I'm sweating like... a horse? What animal sweats a lot? (Pigs don't sweat). Everybody keeps encouraging me and help motivate me to succeed. Actually meeting the guy today that lost 104 pounds was cool. He also mentioned that taking fish oil caplets will not only help with the weight loss, but also with the depression. I really hope that's right! The vitamin B I started taking (after self diagnosing myself with a B-vitamin deficiency) actually helped a lot. Hopefully fish oil will help the rest of the way! Even better: if I can get addicted to exercise and make new friends amongst the group... I have a bad habit of thinking too much, so the more there is to distract me, the less time I have to think, the less upset I will be over life.
So... If anybody has any suggestion for how to track the general blended workout I've been doing (45 minutes)... I'd really love to know! I'm not able to break it down into sets/reps, how many minutes each. The workout is estimated to be 450 calories burned.
