It's the Journey that's Important...
by: John McLeod

Life, sometimes so wearying
Is worth its weight in gold
The experience of traveling
Lends a wisdom that is old
Beyond our 'living memory'
A softly spoken prayer:
"It's the journey that's important,
Not the getting there!"

Ins and outs and ups and downs
Life's road meanders aimlessly?
Or so it seems, but somehow
Leads us where we need to be,
And being simply human
We oft question and compare....
"Is the journey so important
Or the getting there?"

And thus it's always been
That question pondered down the ages
By simple men with simple ways
To wise and ancient sages....
How sweet then, quietly knowing
Reaching destination fair:
"It's the journey that's important,
Not the getting there!"

We all will get there some day. But it is the journey that we take that is important. Not how we get there, or when we get there. Just taking the journey and going for it in our own special ways. We all can do it.

Today, I woke up exhausted, I planned on continuing my 30 Day shred, and getting housework done. But I will be lucky if I can get housework done today. My sleep deprivation is catching up to me. I took a 3 hour nap this morning while my youngest played and watch her Curious George and Elmo. Thankfully she is a good little girl and stayed out of trouble. But that tells me I need a real rest day, not a partial. So I'm going to get done what I can today, and just relax if possible. And just pick up where I left off tomorrow. Hoping I will be a lot more rested then. It wasn't what I wanted originally but my body says otherwise. Wishing everyone a sparking day, and week. And man am I craving watermelon. Guess I need to actually get grocery shopping this week. *HUGS*

Thanks for sharing! I remember the trying and exhausting days of raising children when the grands are with us. They are the rewards of surving parenting. Love them and return them!
