PLANNING VACATION

Well, I am getting things ready for our vacation to my sister's. I talked with her last night and told her not to do a lot of cooking, we would get things when we get there as Hubby is planning to cook one of his favorites for her. We are going by the Farmer's market on our way ofut of town to get some fresh tomatoes as she says they do not have goods ones there yet this season. I am taking a big jar of homemade bread and butter pickles with us to put in the frige. Our mother made these and we both loved them. A lady at the market makes thema nd she brought me a quart jar the other day. Told Hubby they will be a surprise for her. I know that there will not be a thing left in the jar when we leave.

We have a cooler that fits between the front and back seat at the center console so we are planning to pack it with snacks for the trip. I am sure we will have fresh apple slices. Some type of crakers and cheese and some other things so that we can just grab a snack along the way. We enjoy this much more than stopping at a resturant and eating. I have some mineral water already in the truck and some plain water for the trip. We have insulated mugs which we will fill with ice as we are leaving. We will stop along the way for rest stops and a short nap when we get tired. We do not get in a hurry, but it takes us about 12 hours. Hubby has to stop and rest his back and legs. He has bad knees and if he does not get out and walk around,e tc. they really bother him.

Miss Coco is happy with her bag sitting on the bench between mine and Hubby's. That way she knows that we have not forgotten her. She does walk by and check on it, but she is not obsessed with it like she was when it was in the closet.

    Sounds like y'all have everything covered. It, also, sounds like y'all do pretty much as we do when traveling the ten - eleven hours to our youngest off-spring's home - only we stop for the night six or seven hours into the trip. I put that "or" between the hours - because the time really depends on how many times we stop along the way. We like to stop every couple of hours to stretch & do a little walking & to see what we can see. emoticon

    I just lifted a prayer for travel mercies for y'all & ask the Lord to grant your husband a pain free trip.
