Reluctant dog...

Monday, May 20, 2013

It was in the mid 80s today. Too hot by Cooper's standards. I got him to walk this morning, but this afternoon was a whole other story. Pup did not want to go any further than around the block. So, I pampered the pup, and took him for short walks. I did do a little walking without the dog though, because I was not satisfied with going around the block a couple of times.

I had a lovely visit with my aunt this evening. I don't see her all that often, as she is a very busy person. So it was nice to get a chance to chat with her. I walked Cooper over to her house, and stayed for about half an hour.

Tomorrow I have two medical appointments and some errands to run, so the exercise will have to take a back seat. I will still get in my two hours, but I might not get in much more than that. Cooper is going to my parents' for the afternoon, so I don't have to put him in his crate for all that time. One of my appointments is my annual physical, I hope the doctor is impressed with the progress I have made with my weight. I had a bunch of blood tests done about a month ago, so I will get those results back tomorrow. Hoping everything turns out well.

I hope Cooper will walk tomorrow morning!

Yesterday it was a bit warm - I tried to have the pups walk on the grassy & sandy areas instead of the black pavement path - you would have thought I told them to fly to the moon. I have spoiled city dogs. Dirt in my toes? You must be mad!

Congrats for your improvements! emoticon

At least you aren't getting rain every day like we seem to be lately.

I think you aer the person your doctor should put on posters! You should be a motivation to everyone in the real world as you are to us virtual friends!

I'm hoping you have a wonderful physical! You've earned good news from the doc!

Gypsy and Cooper are in the same boat. She laid her big butt down last night when I turned towards the walking path. I had to take her home and just go out with Tazzy. DOGS! emoticon

Your doctor should erect a monument in your honor as a testimony to hard work, good nutrition and consistent exercise.

LOL My dog won't walk when it is hot or raining so I understand Cooper not wanting to walk in the heat. As the warm weather is back, you may have to only walk him morning and evening. I am glad you got to see your Aunt. None of mine live near enough to visit. Have a wonderful day,

Thanks for paying attention to your pup. They can't really tell you that the heat makes them feel sick or they have a headache today unless you are listening.
