weights 4th day

Strange as it may seem, I feel like I am finally getting my workout habits in gear. To be sure, I thought I had already done that. The only thing was, the habits were a bit slippery. The intention was there, but habits weren't fully anchored, I guess I would have to say.
The cardio was easy to include and I was pretty consistent with it. I did weights a few times before this past week, always intending to use them regularly to improve strength and muscles. Well, that's absolutely where it ended, in intentions practiced infrequently. Until late this last week I didn't put it fully into practice until I decided to carry my weights on my walks. That seemed doable, and since I had my weights in hand, I just just went the next obvious step and added some strength training.
Having my 5 pound weights in hand seemed to lead me to my intended step of improving strength and muscles, and I have managed it every other day since I started. I have got them beside my other gear for walking so I can just pick them up and go to it along the walk, and then afterwards.
I did manage to lose one more pound late last week - hooray! - and have stayed on track nutrition-wise, so I am in hopes of losing more consistently and more frequently.
We are having company to stay with us this next weekend, and I know that will be a challenge for me. I am going to serve soups and salads for lunches as the dinners will be at the homes of others who want to entertain our guests, and I know I will have to choose from what is offered. Since our guests also struggle with weight, the lower calorie lunches will help all of us. I'm going to serve breakfasts with whole grains and eggs with fruit, so I think I have a plan already.
