UGH. Pushed myself too far

Last week:

Mon: 5:30 a.m. Zumba
Tue: 5:30 a.m. Toning
Wed: 5:30 a.m. Sentao
5:45 p.m. Toning
Thu: 6:30 p.m. Zumba
Fri: 5:30 a.m. Zumba
7:00 p.m. Toning demo (30 min, but also followed along to some Sentao)
Sat: 10:30 a.m. Zumba

I think I would have been OK if it weren't toning/sentao/toning all crammed in together. My quads HURT HURT HURT. Like they are on FIRE hurt. There's that feeling of "gee, that was a good workout cuz I sure feel it" then there's "OMG if i hold this stretch any longer i think my muscle is going to snap in two" that I felt at the end of THIS MORNING's class (I did have yesterday off)

I have class tomorrow, two Weds, one Thurs, one Fri, and I'm supposed to have 2 on Sat, but I think I have someone to cover one of them (the toning).

I'm not sure what to do about it, as I'm already covering for someone, so it's not like there are a lot of sub options available. Plus, if I had someone sub 5:30 a.m., I'm out $25 per class, which is the going sub rate we pay for that class (my friend and I get prepaid each month by students for it).

You know what drives me crazy, and what I don't miss on Spark? (this was actually pointed out in someone's blog I read last week) The mud slinging. I like to browse MSN.com and CNN for current news events, and when things are slow, I like to read the comments from readers. I really should know better. I've made it into a game: How many posts in until someone blames the situation discussed in the article on the president/guns/religion? It ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS turns political. ALWAYS. It could be an article on kittens saving newborns, and 3-5 posts in, you WOULD see a comment about those "freeloading no-good newborns expecting to be rescued" or how the president is somehow to blame for the newborns being in a place of danger to begin with.

Bah.

I wish people could just put all that energy into SOLVING the problems. But they don't. They just keep slinging mean comments around and placing blame. I'm happy to say I've NEVER seen weight loss or lack thereof being blogged about on Spark blamed on liberals or conservatives. emoticon Hurrah! It's mostly just a happy place where SO MANY people have the common goal of being healthier. It's always been so supportive, and I've been hanging around for 5 YEARS so I feel I have a pretty good feel for the true picture.

So if you're reading this, thanks. Thanks for being a source of support for others. emoticon

    Yikes! 8 classes in 1 week... that's way too much! And to only be payed $25 per class!?!?!
emoticon Not worth the effort, IMHO.
What do they pay you for a regular class (not a sub)? I hope it's more then that!!!

Take good care of yourself!!! Rest those muscles so they can grow big and strong emoticon

    I think everyone has moments when they push themselves a little to far but you should feel good getting all those fitness minutes in! You will recover and all will be well. :)

That is one thing I love about spark people. Health brings people together. It is common ground where everyone can just focus on specific goals. It doesn't matter if I believe in God & someone else doesn't because we are here to support each others health goals, not to discuss religious beliefs. It doesn't matter if someone is conservative or Liberal or moderate. We all just want to get healthy. I can't stick to reading comments on articles either because someone will always have something ridiculous to say. I try to just read the articles and forget the comments! It's hard to not scroll down and hope for the best sometimes, though.

    That is an awful schedule! You could handle that many Zumba classes easy if it was just the dancing, but the others are a real workout on your muscles! I've been careful on scheduling the Sentao classes so that there is the Basic Zumba in between to give the muscles a rest. I know that you are filling in for people on vacation but still your muscles need the rest in between. I'm praying that you don't injure something! They come back soon right?

    I've actually seen some people post some offensive political posts like you described. They are usually frightening posts full of prejudice and lies. I just unfriend them. LOL.

I wondered how you would handle all of this work from dawn till dusk. You are handling it by expiring. LOL. I can't imagine how you stand it.
