..5k Goal...and New LBD for the Wedding!

As many of you know i purchased a dress for a friends wedding that is in September. I bought the dress in a size 18 thinking that i would have to lose about 30lbs to get into it. Well...it fit. Not as nicely as i'd like, but it still fit. What that did to me was allow myself to slack a bit knowing i didn't have to work as hard at losing the weight and/or toning up.

So i decided i needed the challenge. I went out and bought a NEW dress...in a size 16! WOW!!!! Now it's time to work!

In my last blog i wrote out how i was going to start up the weight loss again. I listed my fitness and other plans. But a few people pointed out that i only had one sentence in regards to my nutrition. So i had to sit back and think about it for a bit. So here goes my nutrition plan...

Calorie intake 1300-1750cals

Breakfasts will mainly consist of:
- 1 scrambled egg on a sandwich thin with a slice of pepperjack cheese
or
- Greek yogurt

Morning snacks will mainly consist of:
- a fruit of some sort

Lunch will mainly consist of:
- chicken breast (with various marinades)
- couscous or brown rice
- veggie

Afternoon snack will consist mainly of:
- veggie with ranch
- fruit
- chips (I need something crunchy in the afternoons)

Dinner will consist mainly of:
- chicken breast (with various marinades)
or
- Skirt steak
or
- boneless pork chop
- couscous or brown rice
- veggie
or
- a salad with veggies and grilled chicken breast

This was my staple before. When/if i get bored i switch it up to ham and cheese sandwiches on sandwich thins for lunch or Jennie-o turkey burgers for dinner.

I need to start cutting out the soda again. I've started drinking the Zero Half & Half Tea's (arnold palmers). It's zero calories...but i guess i need to look at the sugar content of it as well.

This past Saturday i started using the Couch 2 10k app on my phone. It's amazing how much i can actually run and not get tired! Week 1, Day 1 is just 30 minutes. BUT we did it 3 times and then still walked a bit after the 3rd round to complete our cardio. BURNED a ton of calories! Tomorrow i'll do day 2 and keep going from there.

Since tomorrow starts my training for the 3-Day, 60 Mile walk in November, my next scheduled 5k isn't until December. It'll be the Dallas Jungle Bell Run. I want to run it this year...it'll be the 1st full run ever. My goal is to complete it in under 35mins. As a walk i can do it in 46mins.

Lot's of goals!

    Both dresses are beautiful. I think the first one is more sexy and the second one is adorable. You do have great taste. I'm glad you sat back and made a plan for your nutrition. You'll fit in the size 16 in no time!

    I like both dresses....but maybe the size 16 just a little better, just love that kind of style. YOU are AMAZING with your plan....aggressive but very doable since it's being done by a very determined person. You are very inspirational .....I can't wait to see you at goal!

    Miss Vicky I like the both dresses but I like the first one best. I agree with Karen that the first dress is more dressy for a wedding. I think you should send the first dress back and reorder it in a size 16. You will want to look stunning for the wedding so that you'll catch the eye of the single guy that will become your future boyfriend. I'mjusssayin

    The artificial sweeteners can cause the body to overproduce insulin and store more fat so the zero calorie label is misleading. Good for you for having a plan to get back on top! emoticon

    i like the dress but preferr the fist little black dress,it looks more special occasion.i am sure you are going to look a knock out in both of them though.love your 5k running goal and know you will do it.you always do what you put your mind on to do.take care and keep smiling emoticon
