Day 2 and working on setting a goal...

Here it is day 2 for me at sparkpeople; my friend is going to be so happy when she learns that I have actually signed up, created a profile, and now attempting to blog. My friend has been here for quite some time now, maybe a couple of years, I'm just not sure; she has tried several times to encourage me to sign up but for whatever reason the timing just wasn't right for me. I will admit that I did start once before within the past year but the name I wanted to use was not accepted because it was too long for the system, so I just exited the sight and went on my way.

As for name/id: campnono has been with me for at least 25 years. I had accepted a job as a cook assistant at a girl scout camp, and I was required to come up with a name for myself; I decided on campnono because I was at camp working in the kitchen where all the no-no's were...think smores and hersey's candy bars, they don't store those in the nurse's station. Anyway, the name has always stuck with me, and I have thought many times if I ever had my own camp it would be called campnono.

As for the moment I know I am starting in a good place here at sparkpeople; I want to focus on my water intake, that being: drinking more of it. I have a formula written down in my notebook from I don't know where or when, but it says weight over 1 multiplied by 2/3 = daily intake. My amount comes to 220 ounces, (I weighed 330lbs at last doctor visit within the last 2 months) and my calculations put that at 27 1/2 cups of water a day. Whew! time for a drink.....

    That is a LOT of water! I just drink when I'm thirsty, which is actually pretty often and I'm sure I'm in the water range SP recommends.

    Congrats on joining the site and choosing to be healthier. You will meet many encouraging friends here who want to hear about your journey and help you along the way. There will be ups and downs but we strive to support eachother in a positive way here,
    Sounds like too much water! It is possible to drink so much water that it causes an electrolyte imbalance in your system. I don't mean to discourage you by any means, please, do drink water....but I would recheck those calculations and maybe see what this SparkPeople site has to say about it. I wouldn't want you to overdo it with the water intake and get sick from it.

    I love your name! LOL Very unique!
    I used to NEVER drink water, but since I started eating healthier and exercising, I find myself NEEDing my water bottle constantly. I set one of my SparkStreaks to keep track of my water intake!
    SparkStreaks are awesome!! SP is awesome! There is soooo much to read, learn, do, get support! emoticon
