Sunday Tornado Outbreak in Oklahoma

Monday, May 20, 2013

First and foremost, I pray for any of you who might have been in the path of these deadly tornadoes.

I live in Central Oklahoma but, by the grace of God, was spared the deadly tornadoes although did go to the storm shelter. Once it was safe, we came out and watched the clouds twirling above us, just feeding into what was obviously the one that hit Lake Thunderbird and Shawnee. So far, one fatality from the tornado that hit a mobile home park near Shawnee

Another dangerous day today with more chances of tornadoes for Oklahoma and Kansas.

I'm in south central Kansas but was born in Shawnee - saw that tornado. I'm always much more sad and anxious when tornados hit my birth state and not so much where I live !!

It is amazing to see how much damage can be done by wind and in such a sudden and short-time frame. As heart-breaking as all the stories of loss, it has been comforting to see more people found safe and alive. Yet another reminder to be thankful for each and every day and to be good to each other while we are here together.

I am thankful your family is safe.

I am glad to hear you made it through the storms. Both tornado's that came through Norman and Moore missed our house. The Lord was watching over us.
