Mix and Match meal planner review

Monday, May 20, 2013

I ran across the new mix and match meal planner that was developed to go with the new Spark /Solution book. I thought Oh, this looks great so I tried it.

You can choose what you want from drop down menus to plan breakfast, a lunch of salad and or sandwich, and dinner. I went through a planned a days meals and added them to my nutrition planner for the day. Pretty slick, huh!

Then I went to my nutrition tracker for the day and every thing I had added in had went straight to the breakfast giving me almost 800 calories for breakfast! I went back to check it out and if you use the tool, on the little calendar that pops up there is another drop down menu for which meal you want it added into, this is in in very small letters and lighter print so easy to miss.

All in all, I think this is a great idea but I did notice that under the dinner section there are very few choices; I wanted to do salisbury steak for dinner but there was nothing even remotely close so I chose Talipia seeing as I had some in the freezer! I like the idea of the balanced meal planner with very little effort, but I do hope they add in more choices in each category. Actually, it would be good if they added in the choices that are in the daily nutrition plan as lined out in the Spark Solution.

emoticon Maybe next week I'll use Spark's planner instead of creating my own meals - need some variety for breakfast,
