I am a Grandma!

Monday, May 20, 2013

Well, this past Tuesday our daughter had her first baby, making me and my husband grandparents! We just can't believe how this makes us feel.

Going to be with them and helping them has impacted my fitness typical schedule but even with that I was able to get several 10 minute walking spurts in each day. I didn't get to keep up with the recording of my food trackers and walking trackers... but I know I am keeping my Spark People goals in mind as I go about the day.

So my Spark Solution routine is a bit off but I am hoping this week would have better focus. It sure helped for me to have my groceries already bought so I could work on meals from that food list.

Today (writing this Sunday night) I went out for a longer walk - 45 minutes and it felt so good to get out and back to my normal route.

We have had lots of pictures with this new grandchild and I am realizing I really can see a difference in my body -- notice that my legs are thinner and my profile a whole different me - full length... I am so jazzed. Thank you Spark People for helping me reach my goals step by step.

I so want to stay fit each decade of my life. Becoming a grandma is a huge blessing and I want to be able to keep up with this little bundle of joy as she grows... and thus I have one more reason to keep eating healthy and exercising.

Thank you everyone for the congrats and thoughts on becoming a grandparent!

I would LOVE to post pictures, I just need to learn how... I have wanted to post pictures of myself in my progress of fitness like so many others have but have not taken the time to search for the "how to". If you have any suggestions I would love to hear it.

The grandaughter's name is Arianna -- and she is so sweet.

I will get to go and see her again today and help with the housekeeping while her mother sleeps.

It is so amazing the feelings one has with the child that has some of you in them... knowing the next generation carries some of your own dna ....

Congratulations. Being a grandparent is a special gift. You will be enjoying and having fun with a grandchild and not disciplining him/her. That is the job of the parents.

I have to say from the picture in your profile, you look very good for a grandmother. Way to go on staying active and fit to have many more great moments with your family and loved ones.
