I've not been an awesome Starfish lately but I have been posting to the tracking thread every day. There's been a lot going on with my son still being sick and getting ready to move. And I'm going to NYC on Friday! Isn't that funny since this week we're headed to NYC in the challenge? I've been stressed out and not tracking my food. Though I think tracking the day or week before might be the best thing fr me to do. It's worked in the past. I planned out what I will eat tomorrow. That's part of the problem....I spend so much time in the kitchen and then I just start grabbing things when I'm hungry and picking at things when I'm stressed out. I'm trying to do a good job with this but it's been hard.

I think you have received some good advice here, and I don't have any other advice to offer besides what you have already been given....BUT, I did want to stop by and offer you emoticon . Praying your son is doing much better!

Hang in there, do the best you can. Sometimes I grab a post-it note and jot down the nibbles and then add it later. Gum while cooking helps me on very munchy days.

Hope all is well, and that the trip will be fun!

Take care of yourself first. That is most important. I initially used tracking to see where I was and what I needed to change. Don't sweat about tracking if other things are more important right now. Watch you little one and help him get healthy.

SO sorry your son has been sick--may he soon be on the mend. And I hope your NY trip is a good one.

As for tracking, I really like Monaca's snapping-a-picture technique!

Best wishes this week. We're rooting for you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hang in there things will get better.
For tracking, a lot of the time I am not near the computer. My job keeps me running around and once I am home I don't like to spend a lot of time on the computer. I found that I always have my phone on me, so I take a picture of what I eat (if it is packaged, I snap a pic of the nutrition facts) then when I have time at the computer I can log it all in and I have the time I ate it. It also makes me stop and think if I really want to eat it or if I am eating out of boredom, tiredness, or something else. It really helps me on those busy days when tracking just seems impossible.

I hope your son is on the mend. I find a note pad in the kitchen is helpful so I can jot down what I am eating when things get hectic and I cannot spend time tracking here on SP.
I hope all goes according to plan for emoticon
