My week one review of Spark Solution
Sunday, May 19, 2013
I have been on Spark for over a year, and trying to live a healthy lifestyle since September 2011. I have only lost 25 pounds. I have been two to three pounds away from my 10% lost goal so many times, only to gain a pound back. I decided to try "The Spark Solution" Program to break that cycle. I had set my smart goals of eating within my calorie range, and of exercising 300 minutes a while ago, and I figured that this is a way to learn new ways to met that.
I';s been a long first week. I have dealt with some mental health issues, having a manic episode and then the responding crash. I think it's a good thing that I had to face my main obstacles this week, so I could use the Spark Solution as a problem solving strategy. I got overwhelmed at the amount of daily cooking, and my family didn't like all the new things. BUT I think I have had great results, in that two people mentioned that I look like I have been losing weight and look less puffy. I will weigh tomorrow morning ( Monday, 7am) for my weekly results.
But even though it's been a rough week, I like the structure and that I am learning new coping ways, new attitude. I am paying attention to the process, not the perfection. I haven't cooked every meal from the book, mostly because my family rioted. I really liked the chicken Casar, and the chicken enchiladas. But I really liked the breakfasts. I started each day with a breakfast, and read the day's pages before Sparking. Each day, I would re-read the Insider Tip to motivate me.
I'm excited for week two, knowing that I have to make some tweaks to appease my family and the grocery budget. My goal is to stay within the nutritional ranges with smart substitutions and to make the work outs.
