Cooper did very well on his maiden voyage in my kayak. He tolerated the life jacket fairly well, and only fell in the water once. Guess he won't try that stunt again! So here goes with the pictures.
Here is Cooper with my oldest niece, Tigan, who was visiting and went kayaking with us.
This was Cooper's favorite position in the boat... until he fell in, then he had to sit right in my lap.
More of the adorable pooch peering out of the cockpit of my kayak.
And then he thought he would try and get fancy. He got all the way out to the end of the kayak... and fell right into the water. Good thing I had his leash hooked to my wrist and he was wearing his PFD. Still, not a happy puppy at that point.
Then today both of my brothers and my oldest niece and I went out hiking to Arkwright Falls near my parents' house. It only took us about an hour and a half to hike down into the gorge, hike up the creek bed, play around at the falls (Tigan went in the water. She is a braver soul than me!), and hike back out again. It was really nice though. There were a lot of butterflies along the banks of the creek, and the water was invigorating when we had to walk in it.
I'm the one in pink, and Tigan is in the yellow and blue.

Me, Tigan, and my brother, Jonathan, standing in front of the upper falls.

So there you have it! That is what I did with myself this weekend. Well, that and dog walks and a little St at home, as well as meals with the family. I made lunch for everybody yesterday at my parents' house, then had Jeremy and Tigan over for lunch today. Since I was cooking I was able to choose what we ate, and I kept it healthy. We had fish and veggies on Saturday, and chicken and veggies today. I have been realizing lately that I sure do eat a lot of fruits and veggies these days. How wonderful is that?! I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!
