week 20

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Hi there, I'm late this week in posting my weekly stats but I was really busy yesterday that I didn't get a chance to open my computer.

First of all, last Sunday, I ran my first official 10 k race. it went really well, even though I was so nervous that I didn't sleep well the night before the race. I knew I could run the distance but still. I ran my best 10 k time ever 1:13:16 hr, 11 minutes faster than my previous PB and I didn't finish last. Woo Hoo!

The challenge is coming by very fast, less than 2 weeks before THE day. I'm actually looking forward to it and I know we will do great.

Yesterday, a friend of mine got married and I was invited to the wedding and the reception. We partied until the wee hours of the morning and I ended up going to bed at 3 in the morning. I had to wake up early to go to a scheduled training "camp" with the group I'm doing the challenge with at 8h30. We were matched in teams, the same one we'll run with for the challenge's legs. We headed out for a short run to fine tune our paces together. The trainer said we would do only a 5k ish distance and I told myself, phew, only a 5k after 3 hours of sleep, this will be easy. Can you imagine that I now consider a 5k run a breeze? Who would have thought?

Ok enough chit chat, here are the week's stats

What fun! A wedding (and I KNOW you looked good partying and then at the big she-bang!) and a new PR and the realization that a 5k is easy - all in the SAME week!

You continue to amaze me with your dedication. I don't think I could have survived the wedding party let alone run after that. You are Wonder Woman!
