The Next Five Days

Sunday, May 19, 2013

I'm extremely attracted to the idea of eating the same things (or close to the same things) every day. So I have my food tracker filled out for the next five days and all of my meals and snacks prepped and portioned!!! This is a miracle for me, as I'm typically not so organized and prepared.

We'll see how it works!

*** This is, of course, inspired by the example of BOOKWORK27S who has experienced so much success recently in finding peace and comfort with food.

I can and also like doing that. I guess I'm a repetition kind of guy. When something works I like to repeat it. Same goes with foods. My wife, on the other hand, is nothing like me. She doesn't like eating the same food twice in a week, let alone every day for weeks on end. So there lies our dilemma, and something we have to work through daily. She also is not much for figuring out what all she puts in her dishes and it makes for difficult tracking. But that is part of life and something we all have to work together on in order to get along. She tries to do better at having a fair idea of what and how much she puts into dishes, I just make sure I keep the portion in control just in case.

    Good luck!

I think you'll find this to be very easy to keep up with. I used to get off track when I allowed myself to become overwhelmed with trying to come up with so many food/meal combos. In our society today (thanks to Dr. Oz, annoying) ... but he promotes SO much nutritional info that we get overwhelmed with trying to pack EVERY meal with as many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants/supplements that he says we MUST be eating. Now I just follow what my body is naturally comfortable with. I trust when my body is ready for a change... it will let me know.

I find that it works very well. It is all about feeding the body with good healthy filling foods.
