The Journey Begins with ONE Step!

Sunday, May 19, 2013

This is a very difficult time for me. I've never weighed this much in my life!! emoticon

I am so very blessed with the most amazing husband, John! We will be married 38 years in August. We have 2 wonderful sons, 2 amazing daughters-by-other-mothers (I don't care for the term Daughter-In Law)! To top it off, we have 3 amazing and energetic grandsons, ages 9, 7 & 5....WOW!

I truly want to get a grip on my health issues and get healthy and active again. I have recently joined a Wellness Center....and if I can just stop injuring myself at home.....I hope to go there for a variety of classes and community so that I am motivated.

One of the amazing blessings in all this, is the desire and ability to find new and healthier ways to cook. Being Gluten Intolerant was a major change in lifestyle, yet I have found and developed amazing recipes that are great and healthy. Now with finding that I have Diabetes, I, once again, have to make many lifestyle changes. At first I was so "beaten" down, but I am finally to a place where I realize this is just another adventure in my life.

So, should anyone like to check out any of the links for GF info, I'll be happy to provide them. For now, these are my favorites:

Enjoy and don't give up....I know I will NOT give up!!

Several years ago I was inching towards that 200 mark and I just said to myself enough is enough. I joined a wellness center and started doing water aerobics, etc. The weight has come off slowly yet it has stayed off. So I wish you the best on your journey to a healthy life style of body, mind and spirit.
