I finished the New You Bootcamp here on SP this week, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I had been looking forward to this program ever since I found that stability ball at the thrift store in the midst of my previous workout plan. It was challenging, but also fun to try new exercises. And hey, I got to play with a ball like a little kid every morning :-) My favorite was playing "catch" while lying on my back with my legs perpendicular to the floor. I had to squeeze the ball with my legs, then release it into my hands, and then toss it back up and catch and squeeze with my legs again. It was entertaining. And I have to smugly say that not once did I fall off that ball as I had anticipated.
I took measurements for the first time ever at the beginning of the bootcamp. If I measured correctly (and that's a big if), I lost 1" off my waist, and 1/2 inch off my upper arm. My other measurements stayed the same. My weight went up slightly (1.2 lbs). Overall, I'm satisfied. I wish I could get a handle on my eating habits, but since I haven't had enough motivation for that, I'm just happy I'm not gaining more.
I'm not sure what program to try next. I didn't realize I was done with the New You Bootcamp this week- time flies! I might try another bootcamp I had found here on SP. I might just try making extra time to run around the yard playing tag or jumping rope with my 9 year old each day. I'll have to think about it. I'm thinking about buying a Hoopnotica DVD. It looks like it could be fun. Has anyone tried these?
In other news, I realized after the fact that my 2 year Sparkiversary was on Wednesday. While I'm not where I wanted to be with my weight by now, I'm still pretty happy with myself. I'm definitely far more active than I used to be. I'm very thankful for all the tools offered here to be able to learn about and live a healthy lifestyle.
