On Sunday May 12 I started " The Spark Solution" plan. I did this with a little hesitation because well I personally have not had the best success with following given food plans. I am a very picky eater because of allergies and just what I dont like personally. But I said back in January what the hell give it shot, it will be a good read any way. My book was delayed and didnt get here till May 11 and as with everything I was impatient to start it. So I looked at the meal plans and the grocery list and said ok we will start on Sunday morning . Now this was a day before the actual Challenge was to begin but I start everything new according to Spark peoples week which starts on Sunday not Monday ( I am compulsive with this Sorry.) Doing this certainly couldnt hurt and it might give me some ideas on how to get my calories up since this is where my issue lays always. I never eat enough to match what I burn off in my workouts. It is alright go ahead roll your eyes I do every time I say that but it is the fact that my body stores up because I dont feed it properly. Any way most of the week gets you above 1400 calories a day . And not once all week was I nauseous or depleted.
I will tell you I try all the dishes that were here but I will also tell you that some of the side dishes i alternated out per my own taste. The book allows you variety and there is no one that is going to yell at for changing something. I workout most days in the morning and after my workout I must have a substantial snack of high protein. I like this plan because there is no guilt attached it for me. Things that make me feel bad well I stay away from they dont work. In making the meals i had to consider my family as they eat really different from me or you. my husband lives in a process world so when i tell you he enjoyed most all of the meals i cooked this week really says something . He told me if you didnt tell me it is healthy I wouldnt have thought anything about it i would have just thought you found a new recipe to try. He wouldnt try the chicken enchiladas because of the Spinach but honestly dont let deter you from trying them you cant taste the spinach in them. His favorite meal all week was the Macaroni and cheese. Mine was the Dijon-herb tenderloin and perfect mashed potatoes. I have to say the pan fried chicken was as close to southern fried chicken taste wise as i have had in a healthy way.
If you dont have a structured fitness routine this book is ideal for that. I have a serious workout routine already and believe me when i tell you i just can't add to it. Although I have tried to get in some extra steps everyday . On my day two of the plan was my first day of implementing weights at the gym and they like to have me done in. I went to fast, to hard and to emotional after this. The next morning i am going over day three and the insider tip really struck home . The tip is from a lady named Amy and has lost 82 pounds she says " Don't expect everything immediately. Celebrate little steps because many little steps cover a great distance." I set a standard for myself that I wouldnt dare hold another person to and sometimes I have to go back and remember that I am not perfect and that I can have a bad day every now and then. I have taken a million little steps to loose the over all 90 something pounds i have lost. I was very excited when i weighed on Saturday and had lost 2 pounds. I would say that a 2 pound loss in a week is almost perfect. It means that had eaten enough to allow my body to burn off what it needed to .
So now we are setting off to the next 7 days. My goal for the next 7 days is to just keep following the plan and keep up with my fitness and hopefully another 2 pound loss will be the end result. Who knows by following this plan i might get to 266 by birthday in June. That would be an awesome gift to myself . But for me it is just about today and today is great because with the help of " the Spark Solution" plan I am now heading in the right direction again.
The book is exactly what it says it is a comprehensive way to begin a fast track diet plan. I would suggest if you are new and dont know where to begin start with this book. If you are kinda in the middle like me read the book and give it a try I promise it will only help you. If you are in maintenance Congrats but i bet the book could help you stay there more easily. Besides spark people is free so supporting it by buying a tool that will encourage you to keep going isnt a bad thing at all. I dont openly endorse products because my taste are different but i will tell you that this book is well worth what I paid for it .
This is the link to the book's website ~~~ order it and give it a shot !!! not for me, not for spark people but for yourself because you deserve it.
