Well, I survived week 1, perhaps even did better than survive, but it took me a few days to get into it. By a few days I mean 4. I have had 3 very good days in a row.
A few things came to light in those days. The first is sugar cravings. I am beginning to wonder if avoiding (refined) sugar entirely is the way to go, or at least limiting it considerably. The longer I don't have it the less I seem to crave it. Secondly, I have been wondering about the affects of salty food. Does it make you gain water weight? I know salt in bad for you in large quantities anyway. My weight loss in those 3 good days has been just over 2lb. Not a huge amount but a step in the right direction:)
Looking towards week 2, I need to keep my action plan in mind, I have achieved some of it but have neglected other areas. I also need to be careful not to undereat on too many days. I tend to be a bit of an extremist when on a diet - either very strict to the point of starvation or falling off the wagon entirely! I have an official weigh in in just over 50 hours time so I'm going to focus on making sure I eat well in the next 2 days. We'll see how that goes.
