31:20 I am so stoked! I went to the race with the intent to do 32 minutes and I achieved my goal.

I had some difficulty around mile 2 with a pain in my side and then I had some negative thoughts that I had to deal with.

In the past, it seems like one of my biggest struggles is keeping positive and goal focused while running. I want to do well when I run (well meaning meeting goals I set) but I also do not want to become injured. So when I need to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone I have a tendency to back off the intensity.

I seemed to have broke through that a bit today. I walked a bit more than I really wanted but I finished the race strong. I became motivated to push myself when I got close enough to see that clock and the minute had just turned to 31:08. So I pushed myself and finished strong even though those last 20 seconds felt like an eternity.

The clock read 31:30 as I crossed the mat, but the time posted is 31:20 (gun time vs chip time) I'll gladly take the 31:20.

Great finishing time! That feeling when you see the finish line then the clock just boosts the adrenaline. Then when you add everything to your finish, it's such a natural rush!

That's a great time. My first 5k was over an hour. I'm still a slow running, but not giving up on it. I still working on endurance and gradually my speed. I think if I had a running partner that's faster will help me with my speed. Keep up the great work with your races.
